Scott Weiland going solo with album and tour
While we’re still not sure what’s more incredible - the fact that the Stone Temple Pilots made it six months or that Scott Weiland is still conscious - the band’s fearless frontman appears set to continue to prove his critics wrong. Just weeks after STP rolled out a new round of tour dates comes news that Weiland will release his second full-length studio album on November 18th. Entitled Happy In Galoshes, the Steve Albini and Doug Grean produiced effort will mark the California native’s first solo project since 1998’s 12 Bar Blues. While a tracklisting has yet to be unveiled, or if the release will be a double album for that matter, Billboard has details of a few of the selections…
“Happy” includes “Paralysis” (a Bowie-esque midempo with a crunchy chorus) the banjo- and acoustic guitar-addled “She’s So Cold,” the peppy rocker “Talk About Love,” the bedroom pop-leaning “Somedays” and the glammy, riffy “Missing Cleveland.”
We do know however, that Weiland will tour in support of Happy In Galoshes once his obligations with the main outfit are over. The coming months should also feature a new record from Stone Temple Pilots as well.

The tour change marks the second significant postponement for the Stone Temple Pilots’ frontman, who had previously pushed back the release date for his sophmore solo effort by more than a month.
