MF DOOM to finally return with new LP?

It has been quite some time since we last heard from underground rap icon MF DOOM. After 2005’s joint project with the then emerging, now household name, DJ Danger Mouse, The Mouse and the Mask, various insane rumors popped up claiming that the New York native died and now uses a look-alike to lip synch his shows.

Looking to debunk these rumors once and for all, the elusive Metal Face has reportedly announced plans of a comeback with the release of a new solo album. Entitled Born Into This and scheduled to hit record shelves on October 21st through Lex Records, the new effort is being billed as DOOM’s definitive album, featuring some of his “brightest and brilliant rhyme skill ever” behind the production talents of late J Dilla (don’t know how that’s gonna work). Included on the described supervillain influenced tracks will also be a number of guest spots from the likes of Danger Mouse, Raekwon, and Ghostface.

While not much is set in stone, in other words, don’t go get any “Born Into This featuring the beats of J Dilla” tattoos just yet, If all of this is true, we are sure in for one hell of a treat.

Prefix Magazine has the full press release.
