Watch: Cold War Kids’ “Something Is Not Right With Me”

In keeping with the overload of previews for Loyalty to Loyalty, the upcoming sophomore effort from California rockers Cold War Kids, the boys now have a video for the album’s first Single “Something Is Not Right With Me”. The video, directed by Sophie Mueller (Raidohead, Blur, Garbage), certainly fits the song’s rather blunt title. The band performs the song in an abandoned warehouse in between cuts to different band members breaking all sorts of objects, drawing eyes on blackboards, feverishly trading plates at the dinner table, and rocking back in forth in chairs with demonic facial expressions. Something certainly is not right with them. As far as the music goes, it is not much different in style from the material found on the band’s 2006 debut, Robbers & Cowards. A strong rhythm section and bass line hold the song together, as lead singer, Nathan Willett’s soulful yelps reveal to all that everything is not a-ok with him.

Loyalty to Loyalty is set for release on September 23rd via Downtown Records, but before then, the Kids will embark on their North American tour this Friday on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
