Foo Fighters likely to take hiatus…let the rumors begin
Don’t expect to be hearing from the Foo Fighters anytime soon. After spending the summer honoring The Who, hanging with Led Zeppelin, and headlining Virgin Festival and Austin City Limits Festival, the Dave Grohl-led outfit is reportedly ready to take an extended break.
In a recent interview with the BBC, Grohl warned fans not to expect an album anytime soon, proclaiming, “we’ve never really taken a long break, I think it’s time.” While the fearless frontman spoke mostly in regard to the band’s future plans in the U.K., the combination of Grohl’s comments with the recent news of guitarist Chris Shiflett’s side project, probably means we won’t see much Foo’s action anywhere.
Now we know what most of you are thinking because we are, too. No time like now for Grohl to bust out the drum sticks and join up with Led Zeppelin for that long overdue reunion tour. Then again, considering the current state of the English outfit, perhaps it might be better for Grohl to take over vocal duties.
Shitpiece, what exactly do you mean?.. I only meant that the Foos can be the Foos even if one member goes away. Of course the sound won’t be the same but the songs will.

So…I’m pretty sure that Dave would sing, even without the Foos. I’m facing the same dilemma here…what makes a band? What makes the sound of a band?..The composer of the songs? The lyricist?.Queen is Queen only with Freddie, Nirvana was Kurt Cobain…The Police was nothing without Sting so…what is Foo Fighters?…I say Foo IS Dave. There would never be Foo Fighters without him. But there could be Foo without Shitlett..sorry wrong name:)

The Foo Fighters are awesome!!!!! I’ve seen them twice in the past three years and the shows are amazing and flawless!!!These guys have worked their asses off becoming what I think is the best rock band in the world!!! They deserve a long break to enjoy their families and children. I just hope its not too long of a break!!!! When they do return they will be even bigger and more badass!
I don’t know about drumming but I personally respect Dave’s work and music , it’s been a great influence for my own. When I saw Queen and the Foos performing together I knew why my music sounds so good: it’s got two of the best bands out there as an influence. So…it’s a shame Foo splits up, I wouldn’t want Dave to end things. He still has music, alot of it and he’s the FOO for me.
