Ryan Adams announces Cardinology
We’ve known Ryan Adams has been working on a new studio album for some time. Between the blog postings offering random tidbits to the recently debut of new material, the acclaimed singer/songwriter has done little to downplay the rumors. And now, just days before his North American headlining tour kicks off, Adams is ready to make it official.
On October 28th, Adams and the Cardinals will release Cardinology via Lost Highway Records. While more specifics, including release date, tracklist, and cover art, are still forthcoming, it appears that this is the same album originally referred to as The Cardinals III/IV, and first mentioned by the North Carolina native back in November. If so, expect the album to “reflect the Cardinals you hear live” with vocals duties shared between Adams and Neal Casal.
Ryan Adams Archive notes the album was produced by Tom Schick and will consist of 15 tracks, featuring a sound “rocking not country sounding at all”
The record will be Adam’s tenth full-length effort and third in which he will be accompanied by his Cardinals bandmates. He has also previously mentioned his intentions of releasing a solo record in the coming months as well.
