Neil Young taps Smashing Pumpkins, Wilco, and others for Bridge School Benefit
For the 22nd consecutive year, Neil Young has gathered a collection of music’s biggest names for his annual benefit concert in support of the Bridge School. After offering lineups featuring the likes of Pearl Jam, Metallica, My Morning Jacket, and Red Hot Chili Peppers in years past, it was hard to imagine the folk legend had much more up his sleeve for this year’s edition of the concert, scheduled to take place between October 25 and 26 at the the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California.
Oh were we wrong.
The Smashing Pumpkins, Death Cab for Cutie, Wilco, Nora Jones, and Jack Johnson are just some of the names teaming up with Young this time around to raise money for the Bridge School for physically impaired children. What’s more, a number of these names will play multiple sets over the course of the weekend.
Saturday, October 25th: Neil Young, Pegi Young, ZZ Top, Nora Jones, Jack Johnson, Death Cab for Cutie, Wilco, Cat Power
Sunday, October 26th: Neil Young, Pegi Young, Smashing Pumpkins, Nora Jones, Jack Johnson, Death Cab for Cutie, Wilco, Cat Power, Josh Groban
Additional guests and ticket information will be announced in the coming weeks. Also be sure to check out Gregory Hernandez’s Bridge Benefit Concert-Goer’s Guide.
