The Dears respond to album leak with tour
On October 20th, The Dears will unveil their new album, Missiles, on Dangerbird Records. Well, that’s when the Montreal outfit will official do so. A number of impatient music fans choose to go the unofficial route however, choosing to download a leak of the band’s fourth studio album nearly a month before they were actually supposed to.
But rather than ignore this, The Dears have actually respond to the issue in a recent post on their MySpace.
So there you have it, friends: our new album and finest work to date, still not due for several weeks, is out there. While we are 100% appreciative that people care enough, The Dears are still pretty old-school. This was not exactly our intention and to be honest, even though it’s kind of cool, we can’t help feeling a little bit devastated. We were always aware of the inevitability, as we are living in the modern age. In fact, we don’t expect anyone to empathize at all. Nevertheless, you now have these options:
a.) download it now.
b.) wait and buy it later.
c.) both.
For those who choose either b or c, The Dears assure that they will get their hands on a version of “utmost quality” with a sleeve and lyric book that are “also very cool.” Regardless of what you do choose, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to check out the band live and in person in the coming weeks. Lets just hope no one leaks setlists…
