The Bird and the Bee readies new album, tour

Compared to 2007, when the Los Angeles based music duo exploded onto the map with a hit song, debut album, and a few appearances on some of our favorite television shows, 2008 has been fairly subdued for The Bird and the Bee. Aside from a digital EP, Coachella appearance, a few more soundtrack sports, and a new dog, the duo of Greg Kurstin and Inara George have been lying fairly low for the last few months.

All that will change on January 27th when The Bird and the Bee release Ray Guns Are Not Just The Future, the band’s second full-length effort, on Blue Note Records. While details remain a bit skimpy, we do know the 14-track album will be headed by its first single, “Polite Dance Song”, now available for stream via the band’s website and a short, east coast tour.
