Check Out: “50 For President”
Even if Kanye isn’t playing along, 50 Cent is still on tap to release his brand new studio album, Before I Self-Destruct, on December 9th. In fact, the day will also mark the release of the hip-hopper born Curtis James Jackson III’s new film of the same title, inspired by the forthcoming effort’s styles and sounds…
The film — which isn’t autobiographical — aims to show the complexities of what 50 refers to as “urban life” in a new way: “When [movies] portray certain lifestyles they don’t show cause and effect,” he says. “But I showed characters under pressure in scenarios where they felt like there were no other options, even though there were.” He adds, “There are always options. People just usually start to see them while being incarcerated — for not seeing them in the first place.”
Ahead of the release(s), 50 Cent has unveiled “50 For President”, the first single of Before I Self-Destruct on his website. Between the “December 9th” shout outs and comparisons to “Prince,” the New York born rapper certainly doen’t appear to have lost any confidence…
