Coldplay plans to get “Lost”
Sure, Coldplay has a pretty full calender between now and December. But that’s doesn’t mean the Chris Martin can’t take some time to get “Lost”. Well, not literally, nor is it in reference to that confusing as hell television series. No, Lost will actually be the title of the band’s brand new, digital only EP, scheduled to drop on November 10th.
The four-track EP will be highlighted by the Viva La Vida… track sharing the same name, described by drummer Will Champion as a piece that “had been around for a long time, without ever getting finished…I was starting to get into using a particular drum programming programme. I was messing around with that and I built this beat up from scratch. Then Chris [Martin] overheard it and played ‘Lost!’ over the top of it.”
The announcement was accompanied by the release of a Mat Whitecross directed video of the song, which is highlighted by some rather awkward closeups of Martin. We’ll let you check it out for yourself though…
The Lost EP does not however appear to be the one alluded to by Coldplay back in August during an interview with R.E.M.’s Michael Stripe. That one is believed to be entitled Prospects March and will be offer a collection of previously unheard material when it drops on or around December 26th.
