ACL unveils 2009 dates, pre-sale opportunities

It didn’t take too long after the finals sounds rang aloud Zilker Park before the folks behind the 2008 edition of Austin City Limits started looking ahead to next year. With memories still fresh in minds and tired feet and coverage of the Austin Texas based festival not at all close to complete, most of the attendees of last weekend’s festival are still trying to catch their breaths. Well, that is everyone aside from the folks behind ACL themselves.

Today, C3 Presents officially announced that the 2009 version of Austin City Limits will go down between October 2 and 4, almost two weeks later than the standard of recent years and something which surely will be a welcome change for those not to fond of Austin’s blistering sun. The announcement was also accompanied by a pre-sale opportunity for subscribers of ACL’s email list. Random selected address will be eligible to pick up two $50 three-day passes for ACL 2009. Sure, there’s no guarantee, but it doesn’t hurt to try…

Unfortunately, as of now, we don’t have any early rumors for you. Well, unless you’re the type of person who puts Radiohead as a possibility for everything…

Instead, we’ll leave you with some choreographed David Byrne memories from last weekend’s performance….
