Coldplay details that other EP

Despite being a bit Lost at the moment, Coldplay did manage to make an appearance long enough over the weekend to unveil details of Prospekt’s March, its forthcoming EP scheduled to hit stores just in time for Christmas.

Scheduled for release on November 25, just three weeks after the digital only Lost! EP will see light, the five-song effort will feature material left over from the Viva La Vida sessions. In a letter appearing on the band’s website over the weekend, Chris Martin confirmed details of the Michael Stipe approved EP, including its correct spelling, release date, and tracklist, while also providing hints as to the reasoning behind the release…

We are very proud of these and are pretty excited to release them. They have been the subject of many discussions and arguments; some might be considered too catchy or too heavy for Coldplay songs but in our minds they complete the VIVA LA VIDA picture.

In addition to the standard digital and physical releases, a special edition of the EP, entitled simply Viva La Vida: Prospekt’s March Edition, will also be available. Aside from all the extra special artwork and lyrics books we’re sure it will include, the special edition will also include a brand new remix of “Lost!” by Jay-Z. The hip-hop mogul previously worked with Martin in 2006 on the song “Beach House”.
