Moby gets remixed

For all that Moby has done in his 15+ year career, you’d think the New York native would know a thing or two about the state of music. So when the DJ announced his latest creative endeavor, Last Night Remixed, with a comment like the one below, well, we’re going to take the man for his word.

“Remixes in 2008 are more important than they’ve ever been and the great thing about the ubiquity of software like Abelton and Logic is that now almost anyone can be a remixer.”

On November 25th, Moby will add to his remix résumé with his second release in this genre, and third overall this year. Entitled simply, Last Night Remixed, the 14 track effort will offer mashups of the DJ’s latest studio album from a collection of well-known fellow DJs, including Holy Ghost!, Seamus Haji, and AC Slater.

Then again, if remixes are so important, why is Moby out and about looking for a punk band?
