Sure it’s been nearly four years since we’ve gotten a new album from the Crown City Rockers. But that doesn’t mean the Bay Area based rap group hasn’t been working. Beginning today, the five-piece outfit will embark on a month-long, North American tour with jam legends Galactic. In support of the endeavor, the band has dropped a brand new release 12″ single, entitled “Body Rock” b/w “Restless”. Albeit only two songs, hey, it’s something, plus the fact it’s available as a free download certainly helps stomaching the lack of a full-length a bit easier.

Speaking of full-lengths, on October 14th, The Might Underdogs, Crown City Rockers’ Headnodic’s “hip-hop” super side-project with Blackalicious’ Gift of Gab and Latyrx’s Lateef the Truth Speaker, will release its debut studio album, Droppin’ Science Fiction, on Definitive Jux.
