Who will open for AC/DC on its forthcoming North American tour? That has been the questions plaguing music fans since the classic rockers first announced details of the dates that will take the group around the country in support of its upcoming album, Black Ice.

Thankfully, AC/DC has come up with the Answer, literally. Hailing all the way from North Ireland, the four-piece outfit better known as The Answer has been tapped to serve as openers for the band’s two-plus month trek. Aside from a performance at SXSW earlier this year, the dates will mark the band’s first live dates within the U.S., despite being relatively a big household name in the rock genre over in Europe. To date, The Answer has sold 100,000 copies of its 2006 debut album, Rise, worldwide and previously opened for The Rolling Stones back in 2007.

“It is an honour and a privilege for The Answer to be offered the opportunity to support probably the greatest rock ‘n’ roll act on the planet. We are incredibly humbled.”

In addition to the dates, The Answer will also spend the coming months celebrating its first ever U.S. release - an EP due out November 11th via The End Records - and an appearance on Guitar Hero: World Tour.
