Chinese Democracy starts now! (Part Deux)
Folks, the day has been set when we’re finally going to see Chinese Democracy in stores. Mind you, that it will be in only one store, and on the day of what some people consider the Sabbath. Ain’t life strange?
Yes, Guns N’ Roses long, long, long, very long awaited follow up to 1991’s Use Your Illusion I & II is finally coming. I can already hear the raging fan boys in XXL wrestling shirts screaming in joy now. Oy vey!
More than a decade after its conception, Guns N’ Roses’ “Chinese Democracy” will finally see the light of day before year’s end, sources close to the situation confirm to Billboard. As first reported here, the set will be a Best Buy exclusive and will be available Sunday, Nov. 23, rather than the usual Tuesday.
Beyond enticing pre-Thanksgiving shoppers, the move is tied to the structure of Best Buy’s sales week, which runs from Sunday to Saturday. As such, “Chinese Democracy” would not be eligible to chart on The Billboard 200 until the week of Dec. 1, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
This might come as a surprise to you, but if you’ve been keeping up with the Roses, you’d know that “Shackler’s Revenge” is already tearing away at the hand’s of Rock Band’ers everywhere and that “If The World” is gracing the credits for Ridley Scott’s film, Body of Lies, which opens this Friday. This has clearly been a busy year for a band that hasn’t released an official song since the inclusion of “Oh My God” on the soundtrack to the 1999 Schwartzenegger bomb, End of Days. But, that’s all behind the band (and the Austrian Governor), and 2008 is the starting point to a new era.
So, now that the release date is set, there’s some competition to be sorted out. Kanye West also has a release that week, as well. Who will win? Will it be Chicago’s West or the West’s Axl Rose. Interesting conflict we have here, though my money is on the ol’ LA boys.
Thanksgiving can’t come sooner.

The Killers are also releasing Day & Age on the 25th…
At last! I can’t wait. This better be good, and if all the songs has the same quality like BETTER (or better:)) I will not be disapointed.
FINALLY!!! Though I don’t want to get my hopes too high until I see the album in my hands.
You know what else this may indicate? Another potential residency in NYC! C’mon Axl!
