N.A.S.A. joins ANTI-, immediately readies guest heavy LP

After spending the summer experimenting in the studio and exploring the country, which included a stop at the New American Music Union, N.A.S.A., aka North America South America, has finally decided on its ultimate destination. The spacesuit wearing duo of Squeak E. Clean and DJ Zegon, whose clever mixes and high-profile blends (ie., Pink Floyd + Blur) have garnered quite a bit of attention since the group was first conceived more than five years ago, has chosen to call ANTI- Records home.

Wasting no time to make its presence known, N.A.S.A. accompanied the announcement with details of its upcoming debut full-length. Entitled The Spirit of Apollo and set for release on February 17th, the 16-track effort will see the group replicate its eye-popping creations to record, only this time around, the big names will be joining in on the fun.

Tom Waits, Kanye West, David Byrne, M.I.A., Santogold, and the Wu Tang Clan are just some of the names who will be providing guest contributions on the forthcoming album. Talk about going all out from the start! But will it work? Can all these big names mesh together to form one cohesive work? N.A.S.A. thinks so. “In spite of the range of performers, the pairings seem organic, inspired and make perfect sense on the first listen, never coming off as ironic or impulsive,” the duo promises.

While N.A.S.A. stands for North America/South America and contains a number of superstar artists from both coasts of the US, it is about as far from a tension-building geographical showdown as a record can get. Rather, The Spirit of Apollo was born with the righteous goal of bringing people together through music and art, and that is exactly what mastermindsSqueak E, Clean and DJ Zegon have done.

Until then, the duo has one scheduled upcoming appearance, a performance at the upcoming HARD Haunted Mansion in Las Angeles on Halloween evening.
