Lollapalloza remembers 2008, thinks 2009

Not quite ready to move on from all that was the 2008 edition of Lollapalooza? Sure, it’s been more than three months since 60,000 festival goers ascended on Grant Park to take in the sights and sounds of Thom, Kanye, Trent, and the nearly 100+ others who graced this year’s lineup. But hell, there were so many great moments, that we even find ourselves rereading our own coverage.

Thankfully, Perry and company are now offering some sounds to accompany your memories. Head over to iTunes this second, and you’ll be presented with mastered recordings from a number of this year’s performances. The price is dependent on the set time, DeVotchKa’s 12 songs cost $9.99, while highlights from Chromeo’s show requires just two one dollar bills. Based on personal experience however - I have Ben Kweller’s 2006 recording blasting as we speak - the downloads are certainly well worth the money.

But of course, all this pales in comparison once the numbers “2009″ starts getting throwing around. After all, as fast as this year’s edition ended, next year’s was announced, at least when it comes to the dates. Like a number of our other favorite festivals (ie., Coachella and Austin City Limits), Lollapalooza has already unveiled specifics for 2009, including the fact that the Chicago based festival will take place between August 7 and 9.

Unfortunately, we don’t have any rumors yet, but when has Perry ever let us down in the past?
