Scratch that. Eminem is going to “Relapse,” unveils new song to hold you over

Eminem is officially back.

Alright, so technically he’s been “back” since rumors about the Detroit rapper’s forthcoming studio album first started to circulate over the summer. But considering the fact that most of this “scuttle” (ie., a King Mathers title, December release date) came from people other Marshall Mathers himself, it was not only hard to decipher what was true and what was not, but seemed a bit premature to get all that excited.

Thankfully yesterday evening, the Real Slim Shady finally stood up.

During the release for his new autobiography, The Way I Am, Eminem sought to put some of the questions to rest with a few “special announcements” to Angea Yee in an interview with Def Sounds. There are alotta fake album titles floating out there–alot of bullshit titles. The real title of my album that’s coming out is called ‘Relapse,” Eminem noted before going on to declare the record will be released in between 50 Cent’s Before I Self Destruct and Dr. Dre’s Detox.

For reference, Before I Self Destruct is due out December 9th, while Dr. Dre is aiming for a release before New Year’s. Using this logic, it appears we’ll have some new masterfully crafted narratives, Eminem style, before the end of the year. Remember when I said it was hard to get excited? Yeah, that’s not the case anymore.

Speaking of new narratives, Mathers accompanied the words with the unveiling of Relapse’s first single, “I’m Having A Relapse”.
