The economy finds another vicitm, Manifest 2008 canceled

If the plunging stock market and ever weakening dollar isn’t enough to get you all depressed over the current state of the U.S. economy, then maybe this will. Citing the current exchange rate between the Mexican peso and American dollar, organizers have decided to scrap the 2008 edition of the Manifest Festival Intenacional.

The Mexico City based festival, scheduled to take place on November 8th, had offered a lineup featuring the likes of The Prodigy, 30 Seconds to Mars, Broken Social Scene, Travis, and Born Ruffians among others for what ultimately turned out to be a pretty penny when you factored in exchange rates.

No word on whether Manifest will return in 2009.
