M. Ward reveals solo details

After laying out his rather jam-packed upcoming itinerary last week, Matthew Ward has since returned to provide a few details about one of his more-anticipated upcoming ventures. Alright so depending on your tastes, his plans with the “Monsters of Folks”, or another She & Him album might excite you more, but news that his forthcoming solo album, Hold Time, is already well in the works, couldn’t help but please more than a few fans of the singer/songwriter’s pleasant folk.

The California native’s guest-heavy, sixth full-length effort is officially set for release on the 17th of February. The 14 track record, said to be “the greatest thing [Zooey] Deschanel’s ever heard” and billed by Ward as “really big and heavy sounds,” will be peppered with appearances by nonother than country-folk hero Lucinda Williams, Jason Lyte formerly of Grandaddy, DeVotchKa’s Tom Hagerman, and of course, the lovely “She” (I predict a marriage).

The track names seem pretty promising, full of the old-time vintage themes Ward is familiar with, but I guess we’ll have to actually hear the songs to see if they’re any good. I’m not just going to take Zooey’s word for it.  Sorry to say so, but “She” may be a bit biased.
