Scott Weiland postpones solo album, cancels fall tour
Maybe we spoke too early. While no official announcement was made in regards to the change, Scott Weiland has apparently pushed back his previously announced fall tour dates in support of his forthcoming solo effort, Happy in Galoshes. Visitors to ScottWeiland.com will now notice that the planned November solo stint has been replaced by dates for an early 2009 tour. The tour change marks the second significant postponement for the Stone Temple Pilots’ frontman, who had previously pushed back the release date for his sophmore solo effort by more than a month. The record is now scheduled for release on November 25th via Softdrive Records.
Speaking of Happy in Galoshes, in a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Weiland described revealed the album “may turn off some STP fans,” citing its wide array of sound, featuring everything from “power-pop” (see: the previously unveiled “Paralysis”) to “banjo-laced country rock.”
“That’s just the way it is. At my age, I just do what I wanna do. There’s art and there’s commerce, and I’ve already accomplished the commerce part of my career.”

I saw STP last saturday at Mexico’s Motorokr Fest. Weiland was so wasted he couldnt even talk (Mexico city! its time..for some…electrical…antibiotics…). It was a freaking good show though.
