Reel Big Fish dabbles in covers, plots tour

Ska fans rejoice! Reel Big Fish has not only announced plans for a brand new album of horn-friendly pick me up styles and sounds, the California based outfit will be using it to cover some of the music’s favorite songs. While certainly nothing groundbreaking - hell Less Than Jake has even come up with a rendition of David Cassidy’s “I Think I Love You” - anytime names like John Mellencamp, Tom Petty, The Eagles, and Poison are thrown out there, it’s worth mentioning.

The Aaron Barrett led outfit will look to unveil its covers of these names and more on January 20th when the band releases the 10-track Fame, Fortune and Fornication via Rock Ridge Music. In support of the release, Reel Big Fish has also announced plans for a rather extensive worldwide tour, which will see the group take the originals and covers to fans of three continents seemingly nonstop from October to March. Tickets for most North American shows will go on sale begining Saturday, October 25th via ticketmaster.com.
