The Mighty Mighty Bosstones prep for 11th Hometown Throwdown

The Mighty Mighty Bosstones will look to celebrate the one year anniversary of the legendary outfit’s reunion in the same way they kicked it off last December. In a year that has seen the Bostonians offer up a new album and hang with some fellow hometown favorites, the Mighty Mighty Bosstones will cap off a succesful twelve months with another one of those “Hometown Throwdowns.”

For the 11th time in the band’s historic existence, Dicky Barrett and the rest of “The Impression That I Get” compadres will host their a series of their legendary year-end “Hometown Throwdown” in Boston, Massachusetts and Providence, Rhode Island.

Based on recent examples, these shows should probably be quite “jaw-dropping,” featuring some spectacular cover-heavy sets and a number of high-profile support acts. Of course, with the good comes the bad, and when you have shows like these, in often intimate venues, diehard fans are forced to battle with hungry scalpers for a small amount of tickets - something that cause a few problems last year. This year however, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones have announced details that will help “protect” their fans.

We have made some changes to the ticketing situation in response to the rampant ticket scalping that went on last year:

The Middle East shows will have a strict 2 ticket limit and will be Will Call only, paperless shows. In other words, no actual hard tickets will be issued or exchanged. You will be required to present your purchase confirmation and photo ID at the door to gain entrance to the show. If you purchase 2 tickets, your guest must be present with you at the time of entrance. You will not be able to leave a ticket for your guest at the door. You will not be able to transfer your purchase to someone else’s name. Doors will open early to allow extra time for this process. We apologize for any slight inconvenience this may cause - it’s the only way we can keep the tickets out of the hands of Grinch-like scalpers and ticket services…

The Lupos show will have a 4 ticket limit. Hard tickets will be issued but each ticket purchaser will be required to show I.D. and their ticket confirmation at the the door to prove they are the original purchaser of the tickets. You will need to have your guests with you at this time and you will not be able to leave tickets for guests at the door.

Tickets for all “Hometown Throwdown” shows will go on sale begining Friday, October 24th via ticketmaster.com and etix.com. Support acts will be announced in the coming weeks.
