Watch: The Offspring’s “Gonna Go Far…”
That’s right, you heard me… The Offspring is out with a brand new video for “You’re Gonna Go Far Kid”, the second single off its recent album, Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace. Since unveiling the album’s latest single
last month, fans have been howling for a better video than what accompanied “Hammerhead”.
Suffice it to say, I have good news and bad news:
The bad news is this video again has no performance footage of the band, and it’s again mostly CGI. The good news? While “Hammerhead” was a better tune, the video for “You’re Gonna Go Far Kid” is by far much better than its predecessor.
That being said, we should also keep in mind their message here is more direct - do not abuse power or the wood nymph will take away your wicked bard guitar.
Enjoy this kick-ass song and remember that we’re all human.

In my opinion, I hold this video higher than the last one due to it’s not-so-muddled message. “Hammerhead” spoke of comparing school shooters to soldiers, while the video was an unorganized variety bag of political protest imagery.
Here, greed and abuse of power are the central themes without question and the means in which final justice is dispatched by our good Mother Nature look-alike seems fitting.
As for performance footage - you’re not the only one waiting for that, trust me.
Curious…anyone have a favorite track on this album? Mine is probably tied between “Hammerhead” and “Shit Is Fucked Up”.
