May we recommend?
- Brooklyn Vegan will be kicking things off early with a day party featuring Friendly Fires, PWRFL Power, Sebastien Grainger, Japanese Motors, and countless others. So many in fact that it will require two of the Pianos’ floors.
- Gothamist will once again turn the Bell House into the Gotham House for its second of four CMJ parties. Thursday’s bill offers Twi the Humble Feathers, Bad Veins, Marnie Stern, and Cotton Jones.
- Rhapsody Rocks NYC brings Mission of Burma, The King Khan & BBQ Show, The Dutchess & The Duke, and Jay Reatard to the Bowery Ballroom for one stellar of a CMJ showcase. Unfortunately, it’s sold out so unless you got a badge, you’ll have to hope for a friendly scalper.
- The Mercury Lounge will also host an official CMJ Showcase. This all day event is highlighted by Jukebox The Ghost, The Vettes, and The Muslims.
- Mushpot Records promises a free night of “dancing n’ romancing” at The Spike during its second annual showcase, which features Magic Magic, a faulty chromosome, and thankyouforthedrummachine.
- Once Brooklyn Vegan is done, Force Field PR will take over Pianos for two floors of indie-friendly music, highlighted by Crystal Stilts, Cause Co-Motion, Au, and Stars Like Fleas.
