Check Out: Lily sure is “at it”

While we’re still a ways from the February 2nd release day of It’s Not Me, It’s You, that isn’t stopping Lily Allen from giving a taste of what to expect, and no we aren’t talking about those earlier demos. The British native is currently streaming “Everyone’s At It”, the rumored first single off her upcoming sophomore effort, on her MySpace page.

The selection is certainly darker than some of the previously shared material (see: “I Could Say” and “I Don’t Know”) and it certainly is heavy in Mark Ronson influences with a heavy blend of synth and other computer generated pop sounds. It’s almost Britney-eske, but then Lily’s thoughtful lyrics take over, this time they examine drug use and all sorts of other depressing stuff, and you realize it’s actually something much much better. Her best? Far from it. But hey, it’s a night start!

Now if we could just get her to fix that hair
