Sure we’re already half way done with the 2008 edition of the CMJ Music Marathon, but that doesn’t mean we’re half way done with the fun. After all, weekend means party, right? And CMJ is all about parties! So there you go! And of course, Consequence of Sound has you covered for the whole thing. Kicking of the day, This Side Up, I Rock I Roll, and Filter will team up to bring the Music Chair Showcase to Rehab. Both the music, which includes Jukebox the Ghost, Talley Hall, and Noisettes, and the beer are free.

Head on over to the Fillmore at Irving Plaza for the BBC’s “Insiders” Showcase and you’ll find a stellar collection of music’s best electro-friendly acts, including Soulwax, Jamie Lavelle, Pete Tong, and The Whip.

For those looking for something a bit more “bloggy,” Perez Hilton is coming to Highline Ballroom for “One Night” only with a showcase featuring, Lady Gaga, Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings, Yo Majesty, and Semi Precious Weapons. A RSVP is required.

The fine folks over at the Beggars Group will finally get into the CMJ action when they host an official afterparty as Stanton Public. Times New Vikings, The Teenangers, Billy Hayes (Jay Reatard’s band), and other special guests are among the acts set to perform.

Speaking of Jay Reatard, he along with Japanese Motors, White Lies, Violens, and Longwave will be holding down the fort at the official CMJ Showcase at Bowery Ballroom.
