Kick the New Year off with a “Sea of Dreams”
Sure we’re not even through Halloween and all that comes with it, but that’s doesn’t mean we can’t start looking ahead toward New Years, when an equally stellar amount of shows will be at our choosing. Take San Francisco’s Sea of Dreams for example.
Scheduled to go down between 9pm and 4am on New Years Eve, the Golden Gate City best festival will seek to turn the Concourse Center into an underwater fantasyland, complete with cabaret and circus performers, aerialists, and contortionists to, all in an attempt to offer “most elaborate and decadent” way of bringing in 2009. And we haven’t even gotten to the music portion yet.
Thievery Corporation and Bassnectar headline the dance-friendly bill for the ninth edition of Sea of Dreams, which also includes 25-piece indie techno circus The Mutaytor, funk rocker Motion Potion, and dub innovator Maneesh the Twister. Add in Cirque Berzerk for what should be a nice visual experience, and well, there’s surely something for the whole family. Plus, it sure beats Ryan Seacrest and $5 bottles of champagne.
Additional acts will be announced in the coming weeks. Tickets will go on sale begining Saturday, October 28th via Sunset Tickets.
