Watch: Jane’s Addiction back for at least one night
Unless you were one of the lucky 390 people who squeezed into Los Angeles’ La Cita Bar last Thursday evening or have some sort of weird telepathic connection with Perry Farrell, you missed Farrell, Dave Navarro, Eric Avery, and Stephen Perkins performing for the first second time in nearly 17 years under the name of Jane’s Addicition. Aside from the folks who got turned away at the door, a good time was had by all, as proclaimed by Navarro in his recent blog entry about the intimate performance:
“The night was just fantastic. La Cita is an extremely small venue with amazingly low ceilings. I have to say that it really felt like it was the “OLD SCHOOL” 1987 Jane’s. A tiny little Mexican bar adorned with Christmas lights, hot sweaty and humid, loud and songs we haven’t played in

Perry was just as riveting and mesmerizing as he has ever been. That guy is such an undeniable entertainer! After all of these years, I still catch myself looking over to my left… Captivated by his onstage energy. What an amazing honor to still be playing with my favorite all time singer and frontman. Perkins was literally on fire all night. When he is in his zone, it’s like Shiva is back there with a drumstick in each hand. Watching him play drums is like watching him defy human restraints and logic. Unbelievable.”
Fortunately, thanks to the wonder of the world wide web, all the unlucky non attendees can now get a glimpse of Perry’s energy, Perkin’s fire and Shiva’s testing of human restraint from a number of videos and bootlegs that have surfaced from Thursday’s concert.

Highlights of the Night
Buzzbands.LA has the most extensive review of the performance, complete with enough pictures of Perry to make even the biggest fan’s heart content, while Billy Morrison and Tom Morello are among the musicians to have offered their thoughts on the evening. Based on these and fan reaction, it certainly appears most are in agreement that Jane’s Addiction’s one-off was a smashing success.
But what does this mean for the future? Is Coachella in Perry’s sights? What about a full-fledged reunion tour? Well, by no means is it out of the question - Navarro did end his comments saying, “everything came together, hopefully not for the last time” - however as of now, minus a few unsubstantiated rumors, Jane’s Addicition performance at La Cita Bar was a one-off. Of course, just as fast as Perry changes outfits, the circumstances could change, and this time tomorrow, we could be dealing with dates for a two-month North American tour. After all, this is not only a rock band we’re talking about, this is Perry Farrell’s rock band.
