Lily Allen confirms more details of sophomore effort

For rock fans, November 23rd is a big day. For rap fans, December 23rd may be as well. For the entire world, January 1st is usually a big deal. But for Lily Allen, no date is more significant than February 10, 2009. You see, this is the day the British pop star has designated as the one that will determine her future. Will she remain a hilariously awesome, foul-mouthed singer/songwriter or move on to a different field of work like, oh I don’t know, A&R?

Of course, the ultimate result depends on how fans embrace her much-anticipated sophomore album, which today, we got a few more specifics about. As we discovered last week when Allen dropped her first single “Everyone’s At It”, the album will in fact be titled It’s Not Me, It’s You, something considering the circumstances seem a bit more appropriate than the previous title, Stuck On The Naughty Step.

Allen describes the album as bigger than 2006’s Alright, Still with “more ethereal songs, real songs,” noting,  “I wanted to work with one person from start to finish to make it one body of work. I wanted it to feel like it had some sort of integrity. I think I’ve grown up a bit as a person and I hope it reflects that.” While we’re not entirely sure if this means the rumored collaboration with Lindsay Lohan has been dropped, these comments combined with the names of the album’s 12 tracks (see below) sure appear to indicate that is the case. And thank goodness for that!

Allen plans to tour the U.S. next spring in support of the release.

It’s Not Me, It’s You Tracklist:
01. Everyone’s At It
02. The Fear

06. Go Back To the Start
07. Never Gonna Happen
08. Fuck You
09. Who’d've Known
