The Cool Kids take break from digitial world to release debut album

As 2008 nears its end, The Cool Kids are showing no signs of slowing down. Hell, the Chicago outfit have even crossed into the digital realm as they will not only be appearing on the soundtrack and touring in support of the forthcoming, NBA 2K9, the duo of Antoine Reed and Evan Ingersoll will also appear as playable characters in the game. But even this pales to comparison of yesterday’s news: The Cool Kids announced they are hard at work on their long-awaited debut album and plan to release it before the end of the year.

In an interview with HipHopDX, Inglish remarked:

“We’re about to embark on a whole new section of our lives here. We’re about to throw out this album, and this is our first album so it means a lot to us. We worked really hard on it and we’re ready to start unveiling the joints to everybody. We’re really hyped about getting on the road and performing the new joints and seeing what everybody thinks”

Considering the success of their previous E.P. The Bake Sale, the duo’s debut album, reportedly entitled When Fish Ride Bicycles, shouldn’t have much problem finding its niche. There’s still some speculation on when the actual release date for When Fish Ride Bicycles’ will be, but an educated guess would have it set sometime between November and December, which should prove eventful considering the amount of new hip-hop records planned for release from other artists as well (e.g. Ludacris, Kanye West, and 50 Cent, to name a few).
