Watch: KINKY’s “Hasta Quemamos”
In support of their new album, Barracuda, KINKY has teamed up with Money Mark of the Beastie Boys and Chico Sonido for the production of their new video, “Hasta Quemamos”. Hoping to capture the intoxicating energy of these Mexican electronic rockers, the video features a lot of break dancing, booty shakin’ and cruisin’ around the town!
But we’ll let KINKY’s Carlos Chairez speak for himself, via Nettwerk:
“This video is about dancing, and no matter what your style is, the song speaks about
doing it until you burn. Even if that takes hours and hours and sleepless nights looking for places to keep the music going. That is why we drive around LA until the sun comes up.”
KINKY is a fusion of traditional Mexican musical elements (bass and accordion in particular), electronic, funk rock that generally samples a little bit of every genre. The five-piece outfit’s fourth album, Barracuda, was put out as a digital release recently and is set to hit stores in February 2009. Rumor has it that KINKY will also be embarking on a North American tour closer to the release of Barracuda, but further information has not yet been made available.
