Titus Andronicus gets signed, celebrates with tour and rerelease

Apparently we weren’t the only ones to be captivated by the distorted, shoegaze-friendly drug better known as Titus Andronicus. Our only question is: What took so long? After dazzling fans with its ferocious 45-minute debut, The Airing Of Grievances, earlier this summer, the New Jersey sextet has become the latest act to be scooped up by XL Recordings. Titus joins such fellow indie favorites Radiohead, The Raconteurs, Vampire Weekend, M.I.A., and Beck on the U.K. based label’s roster. Is anyone else wishing for an XL-only festival one of these days?

How does this affect the common music fan? Well besides the overabundance of Titus Andronicus one will likely see in the coming months whether at your local venue, music festival, or wherever else live music greats your ear, as XL tries to introduce as many people to the outfit as possible, the label will also reissue the debut album digitally in November and physically in January. Oh yeah, and plus John Norris is now smiling so that’s always good.
