Watch: Springsteen’s “Dream”

Watch: Springsteen’s “Dream”

As days become hours, time is whittling itself away. The election is a breath away, and people are getting a lil’ nuts. This past weekend proved that much, with nearly every other woman donning their best (or worst) Sarah Palin costumes, stumbling around drunk in both character and in actuality. Though as Tuesday creeps up, people are starting to get serious.

At least the Boss is.

Yesterday in Cleveland, OH, Bruce Springsteen made an appearance at the Obama rally, in support of his favorite candidate. The usual political mumbo jumbo, inspirational hoopla carried on, but the sanguine yet wise New Jersey native managed to squeeze out a six song set list. While he didn’t include his new “Jersey Devil” ditty, he did throw in a new song.

Titled “Working On a Dream”, the acoustic number is fitting for the populist candidate, with images that hearken back to Marxist principals (”Rain pouring down I swing my hammer”) and a chorus that emphasizes a strong, leftist idealism (”Im working on a dream, though trouble can feel like its here to stay “). Unfortunately, the end result comes off a bit cheesy, and considering it’s the Boss we’re talking about here, one expects something with a higher caliber.

Oh well, hopefully it doesn’t upset the election.
