Glasvegas gets in the Christmas spirit
With Halloween now all but a distant memory, well aside from the few spooky tracks still blaring from our speakers, it’s time to look ahead. After all, Christmas is in just 52 days, and sooner rather than later, you’ll be overwhelmed by countless renditions of “Frosty the Snowmen” and “Joy to the World”.
And of course, not all of those are worth a repeated listen…
So why not pick up something a bit more in the realm of indie influenced styles, such as what will be heard on Glasvegas’ forthcoming EP. After spending recent weeks releasing its self-titled debut and gracing iTunes with its free “single of the week,” “Geraldine”, the Scottish outfit will look to cap off the year with the release of A Snowflake Fell (And It Felt Like A Kiss) on December 1st. Recorded in Transylvania of all places, the six-track, Rich Costey (Interpol, Muse) produced effort will capture the holiday cheer with such musical elements as the inclusion of a choir on “Silent Night”.
However, the end of the holiday season won’t mean the end of Glasvegas, particularly for U.S. audiences. Just two weeks after Christmas, the four-piece outfit will celebrate the U.S. release of Glasvegas, which will be accompanied by a short tour.
