Watch: Uh Huh Her “Explode”
The groovy gals of Uh Huh Her have been hard at work these last few months thanks to the release of a killer debut album and the commencement of their first full-fledged U.S. tour. And now the ever so charming Leisha Hailey and Camila Grey have got their first music video in the bag as well!
The result of a collaboration with one of their illustrious fans, Jodi Sandler, who created the very uniquely animated music video herself, “Explode” follows the evolving relationship of two strangers as they walk the streets of Paris only to find themselves entangled in one another’s arms. It’s very cutesy comic book like, grabbing characteristics from independent hits like Demo or Last Call; featuring extremely elongated characters with very distinctive facial features and a rather odd way of walking. It’s surprising how well the video actually flows with the fantastically dreamy soundscapes found within the song, but proves itself as a stunning platform for both the song and the band.
While both captivating and charming, “Explode” is honestly worth viewing for the animation alone….
