Crooked X unleashes debut album
Between the tours with KISS and Alice Cooper, MTV shows, Rock Band appearances, and the recently released Til We Bleed EP, Oklahoma rockers Crooked X have already seen more success than many bands could ever dream in. But throw in the fact all four members of the four-piece outfit range in age from 14 and 15 and are already gearing up for the release of their full-length debut, and one can’t help but be a bit dumbstruck. I mean talk about overachieving!
On January 13th, Crooked X will unveil its self-titled debut via EMI. Produced by Spencer Proffer and Michael Wagener, the 10-track effort is described as “full of catchy choruses” and thoughtful lyrics inspired from personal experiences, as exemplified by the band’s first single, “Rock N Roll Dream” (see below), which will head the release on November 10th. Early reviews appear positive - hell, The Deciblog compares it to Chinese Democracy - but considering Crooked X will be complemented with an airing of a MTV documentary about the band on the day of its release, we’re willing to hold on judgment until January 13th. After all, when is the last time MTV actually backed a good band?
