We write about forthcoming releases nearly everyday, but usually when we do, there’s rarely anything more than a few interview snippets and press descriptions to provide ideas as to what to expect. After all, most of times, the artist/band is still in studio when we first receive word about a particular new release. So when we get things like ANTI- Record’s Fall 2008 Digital Sampler and the collection of brand new tracks from these forthcoming albums that it offers, it helps make our job a bit easier and your day a lot funner.

Available now as a free download via the ANTI- Blog or at many of your favorite local record stores, the Fall 2008 Digital Sample features a number of previously unheard selections, including N.A.S.A.’s “Spacious Thoughts” (feat. Tom Waits & Kook Keith) from its upcoming debut album, The Spirit of Apollo, and “Old Devils”, a track off of William Elliott Whitmore’s new album, Animals In The Dark. Also mixed in are a number of tracks from our favorite 2008 releases – Man Man’s “Rabbit Habits”, Tim Fite’s “Big Mistake”, and DeVotchKa’s “New World”.

All in all, it’s not a bad way to end your work weak and get a head start of what is to come in 2009.
