KISS hints at new album?
Even if the band only has two of its original members left, Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons, the monsters in make up, aka KISS, are still thinking about penning a new album. And no, this won’t be another re-recording of previous hits, like they released this year with Jigoku-Retsuden. This is going to be a straight up rock album, filled with new material, something the band hasn’t done since 1998’s Psycho Circus.
This comes as a surprise, considering that Stanley and Simmons, who continued on even after Ace Frehley and Peter Criss knew it was time to wash the make up off, have been hesitant to new material as of late. Back in June, Stanley was quoted as saying, “We have no plans to record. The reason we don’t r
ecord is because any classic band that hits the road, the last thing you really wanna hear is their new songs.” However, photographer Ross Halfin has news that says otherwise. Per Music Radar:
Halfin, who writes in his blog: “I had breakfast with Paul Stanley,The Love Gun. Paul told me they may make a Kiss record, which he’ll produce. A real ’70s Kiss-style record. If Paul can stop painting which is his other career.”
If this does ring true, a ’70’s throwback record would be pure bliss. After all, that’s when the band was in its stride, creating actual “good” music as opposed to the “heavy” and “hardcore” nonsense that was in their last release.
If all else fails, however, we can always hold onto the prospects of another Paul Stanley solo record. Good Lord!

This is a rock n roll party, not a rumble! Don’t ya’ll like vodka and orange juice?!!!
Live to Win was certainly better than Asshole. I guess that’s not saying much…
I have been a die hard KISS fan since 74, I hated to see Peter and Ace leave when they did. It was also hard to see them leave a secound time. If they do a new one, it needs to be Gene,Ace,Peter & Paul, not Tommy and Eric. I could even have accepted Eric Carr, to me the last true member, but not the other two.
Since Tommy and Eric put on makeup that really dose not belong to them, Kiss has become more of a tribute band then Kiss. It is like seeing the Kiss-alikes not the real Kiss.
Also, if they would put out a new one, and use Peter and Ace, they need to all be in the same studio and all play on each track, not like last the one.
Eric needs to stay with Alica Cooper and Tommy with Black and Blue, which I saw in the early 80’s and was not good.
If they put one out with Tommy and Eric, they just lost a life long fan for good.
But hey, they are just in it for the money now, not the fans. If so, Peter and Ace would still be there…Kev
