Nada Surf to tour in support of super awesome, limited edition box set

Seeing that as on November 25th, Nada Surf will release all five of its studio albums on vinyl for the first time ever, the New York outfit has used the occasion for an excuse to tour North American. At least, that’s how we see it. On November 19th, Matthew Caws and Co. will embark on a month-long stint with CoS favorites Delta Spirit and The Jealous Girlfriends, which will be highlighted by three performances in band’s hometown/area/metropolitan area/whatever.

Getting back to those vinyl reissues, which after all, are the reason for tour, they will be packaged as part of limited-edition box set through Barsuk Records. Included in the release, of which only 1,000 are being made, will be reissues of the band’s first 7″ singles, a 24-page lyric book, and digital download codes for The Proximity Effect, Let Go, The Weight Is a Gift, Lucky and a number of b-sides and previously unreleased material. I’m still a bit confused as to why digitial codes for the full-lengths are being packaged, especially considering the target demographic are folks who probably already own every single release and then some, but hey, I guess it’s another way to justify the $100 price tag.

Tickets for most North American dates are available via ticketmaster.com.
