GN’R issue a “Better” single…

With only five days left ’til release, the marketing engine behind Chinese Democracy is running at full speed. The catch? It’s actually working. Already, the first single, “Chinese Democracy”, is topping the Billboard Modern Rock charts, and climbing high on the iTunes download list. In addition to this savory news, the album’s been seeing some good press, with Rolling Stone patenting it a “four star” success. Now this morning, hours before the listening parties begin nationwide, Guns N’ Roses has issued a second single.

“Better” is the next one to scale the charts, and this should do even better. While there’s the industrial-like swagger that’s prevalent in “Chinese Democracy”, the bite and harmony is classic GN’R. In fact, this might actually be the best song on the record. With its catchy chorus (”No one ever told me that/I’d be alone/They just thought I knew better/Better”), it’s a song to get behind, and that’s exactly what this album needs right now.

It’s funny that we’re finally seeing this song come to life. Originally, it was supposed to be the band’s “inaugural” single in 2006, when it was attached to Harley Davidson ads. Of course, that wasn’t the case, but thank god it’s back and kicking it.

You can listen to it here, as it’s streaming on Q104.3 and at radio stations nationwide! So get old school and turn on those boom boxes!

Chinese Democracy will be at all Best Buys and iTunes Music Stores this Sunday, November 23rd.

  1. Yeah, I’m actually glad it’ll be on iTunes. It should be good for the band, especially those interested in the new singles. “Better” is underpriced at .99 cents.

  2. Only Best Buy and Itunes? I heard awhile back best buy has exclusive rights. but now itunes as well?

  3. nice pun
