With his new solo album, Noble Beast, set to hit stores in two months, January 27th to be exact, Andrew Bird has been busy playing party planner, only in more a hip and musical kind of way. In support of the forthcoming release, the Chicago native has unveiled dates for a month-long North American trek beginning in late January. A stop at New York’s legendary Carnegie Hall will kick things off before Bird teams up with Swedish singer/songwriter Emil Svanängen, aka Loney, Dear, to crisscross the country.

Fortunately all these tour dates and other necessary requirements that goes with releasing a new studio album hasn’t stopped Bird from offering a few new selections, even one not from Noble Beast. During a recent performance at “Noel Godrich’s basement,” the Chicagoan debuted “Sectionate City”, a track reportedly from his forthcoming EP, Soldier On.
