Raekwon readies long-awaited sequel
Even with an extensive winter tour set to begin at the end of the month, the members of Wu-Tang seem to have no problems finding some extra time to embark on personal endeavors, especially in the category of sequels. Following in the footsteps of Method Man’s intentions to “get high” again, fellow bandmate Raekwon has announced plans for a sequel to his 1995 acclaimed debut album, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx…
Speaking in a recent interview with Hip Hop Official, the New York rapper revealed that Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II, his first solo effort in nearly five years, will likely see release in early March. “I’m taking my time, and I’m doing this for the people, not for me,” Raekwon went on to explain. So what should one expect to hear on the sequel now 13 years in the making? In addition to appearances from members of his main outfit, Raekwon has also reportedly tapped Busta Rhymes and Travis Barker for guest spots, while RZA, Dr. Dre, DJ Scratch, Marley Marl, Scram Jones, Pete Rock and the late J-Dilla are said to have shared their production talents. Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II will be released through the rapper’s personal label, Icewater Records.
No word if Raekwon’s recent cover of “Give It To Me Baby” will be included, but one can always dream…

If it weren’t for “Detox” I would label OB4CL2 the “Chinese Democracy” of hip hop. Oh wait…”Chinese Democracy” actually exists.
