SXSW ‘09 announces first nine

With 2009 getting closer, both confirmations and rumors are starting to surface about next year’s hottest major music festivals. And with March inching closer every day, Austin’s famous South by Southwest is already getting ready to win our hearts over with yet another festival encompassing every kind of music possible and more.

Currently, SXSW is bragging about the alleged 1,800 acts it plans to feature during its five day duration on March 18-22. Talk about intense, eh? And now, with 2009’s first performers officially confirmed, SXSW is on its way to becoming a far out festival that’s sure to please. So far, we’ve got Dent May & His Magnificent Ukulele, St. Vincent, Beach House, Anni Rossi, Future of the Left, White Lies, Passion Pit, B.o.B, and Sage Francis marked down, and unsurprisingly, with only nine bands announced so far, SXSW already features everything from ukeleles to guitars!

Of course, if you add in the names independently confirmed via MySpace or some other facet of the internet, then the number jumps to 30. Thank goodness you have our SXSW Outlook Page to keep track of everything…

Be sure to check back with us for more SXSW news, as we’ll have plenty more updates to come in the following weeks, and maybe even in the next few days.

  1. 1.) Passion Pit = Nice

    2.) B.o.B = Awesome

For those curious and bored, make sure to check out the song “Change Gonna Come” by B.o.B, Charles Hamilton, and Asher Roth. It’s too good not to be noticed. Enjoy.
