ATP NY whispers first acts
With the likes of Kevin Shields and his shoegazing outfit, My Bloody Valentine, on board, it doesn’t take much else to find success. That’s probably why only two weeks after its inaugural date, ATP New York was scheduled for second helpings, to be held again at Kutsher’s Country Club at the ehart of Monticello, NY. Much like the sequels to Hollywood blockbusters, festivalgoers should only expect the second year to be bigger, better, and well, louder. It might be heard to top MBV, but so far, they’re doing a good job.
It might be almost a good year until the weekend takes place (September 11-13, 2009?), but this morning, ATP released the first few bands to appear on the bill. Hell, there’s even a cult comedian on board, already.
Friday (Don’t Look Back/Comedy):
Dirty Three performing Ocean Songs, Suicide performing s/t debut, David Cross (host)
Saturday (Curated by ATP):
Animal Collective, Anti-Pop Consortium, Atlas Sound, Panda Bear
So, let’s take a look. Suicide? Whoa, that’s a bit out there. Animal Collective? That should make anyone happy. And to top it off, Panda Bear as well? That’s quite the lil’ line up that’s forming, and at a good ten months away, one can only get more excited, right?
We’ll keep you in the loop. For now, keep a look out on our Festival Outlook site as we’ll be feeding you more and more info as it comes.

ummm, I’m going . . .
I’m waiting for Kanye…
SUICIDE!!! I need me some Ghost Rider!!
Awesome - I didn’t know that Anti-pop Consortium was still around. I’ve been trying to see David Cross since the Mr. Show days.
