Ted Leo & The Pharmacists sing with the kids

If things couldn’t get more electrifying for Ted Leo & The Pharmacists, the New York trio certainly know how to keep the block party going. With the unexpected release of their newest EP last month, Leo & the gang steadfastly announced that they will headline their own Indie Rock Karaoke event along with party-hearty rocker Andrew WK. The show will see a Wednesday, December 3rd date @ Studio B in New York City, which will feature a set from Ted Leo, in addition to a karaoke session from the audience. This is where things get interesting…

The songs Ted selected include tracks by AC/DC, Amerie, Blondie, Kelly Clarkson, The Clash, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Cure, Aretha Franklin, Billy Idol, Joy Division, The Kingsmen, Minor Threat, The Misfits, The Outfield, Prince, Queen & David Bowie, Ramones, The Saints, Santogold, Bruce Springsteen, Bruce Springsteen, Steely Dan, Stiff Little Fingers, The Stooges, The Who and Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

For those looking to get a one up on any unsuspecting concertgoer, here’s a complete list of songs that The Pharmacists will play for the show:

* AC/DC - “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap”
* Amerie - “One Thing”
* Blondie - “Dreaming”
* Kelly Clarkson - “Since U Been Gone”
* The Clash - “Rock the Casbah”
* Creedence Clearwater Revival - “Fortunate Son”
* The Cure - “Just Like Heaven”
* Aretha Franklin - “Respect”
* Billy Idol - “Dancin’ With Myself”
* Joy Division - “Transmission”
* The Kingsmen - “Louie Louie”
* Minor Threat - “Minor Threat”
* The Misfits - “Where Eagles Dare”
* The Outfield - “Your Love”
* Prince - “Kiss”

* Steely Dan - “Reelin’ in the Years”
* Stiff Little Fingers - “Suspect Device”
* The Stooges - “Search and Destroy”
* The Who - “My Generation”
* Yeah Yeah Yeahs - “Maps”

Anyone think they got the chops to front the band? My eyes are set on Billy Idol, but I’ll be damned if some Aretha Franklin wouldn’t feel good right about now. Well, for those that can make it, or for those nearby, definitely mark those calendars!

What a way to kick off the holidays!
