After losing his frontman, failed attempts at finding a new one, being sued, and contemplating a break up, one might say things have been quite tragic for the former Guns N’ Roses guitarist, Slash. Hell, he’s had such a hard time that he’s even kicked around the idea of another solo record. However, let’s not pull out the violin and string quartet just yet. No, things might be looking up for the ol’ man n’ the hat.

It’s not a press release by any means, but Slash’s wife, Perla Hudson, has been running amok with word on what Slash has been up to. Considering she sleeps with the guy, it doesn’t get any closer of a source than this, or at least we hope not. Per Spin:

While Slash has been tight-lipped about who would make appearances on the record, expected to be released in 2009, his better half was only too happy to tell celeb site Rockerazzi: “It’s going to be Slash and friends, with everyone from Ozzy (Osbourne) to Fergie.”

Now Ozzy Osbourne we can handle, but Fergie? C’mon! At least keep some dignity for yourself, Slash. It’s bad enough that you’re responsible for “Fall to Pieces”, but a collaboration with Fergie? This seems more asinine than that Motorhead story we ran yesterday. Although, let’s be fair some. It’s not like the guy is forming Rockstar Supernova here, and in some respects Fergie is admirable. That scene in Grindhouse, for instance?

Then again, he could always bite the bullet and re-join his real band. Oh, wishful thinking!
