Slipknot’s new gruesome U.S. tour

After partaking in 10 solid years of rocking out real hard, the clown-faced heavy metal band Slipknot, is embarking on a full-fledged U.S. tour in 2009! And with 2009 marking the band’s first decade, Slipknot is “hella” pumped and more than ready to rock across America in support of their recent hit album, All Hope is Gone.

As we mentioned before, All Hope is Gone received tons of praise and even hit #1 on the Billboard 200; a first time achievement for Slipknot. Now, with a tour hitting 33 cities across the country, these clowns are getting ready to headline at both major venues and historic landmarks, such as Madison Square Garden in New York. And if you aren’t sold yet, the bitchin’ openers, Trivium and Coheed and Cambria, should close the deal for sure!

According to frontman Corey Taylor:

2009 is the 10 year anniversary of the world’s first taste of this band.  To celebrate we are coming back out with a killer tour, a couple great bands and the same ferocity with which we attack life.  We want all of our maggots to come and celebrate with us, because if it weren’t for you, we wouldn’t have been here for 10 years.  Get ready for chaos!

So, if you are looking for tickets, they go on sale December 6th. However, for those that pre-ordered the album on iTunes, your tickets go on sale December 3rd, with another pre-sale slated for December 5th, both on Ticketmaster. With all these pre-sales available, it’s pretty obvious people are getting pumped about this tour, so you better hurry up and get out your fuckin’ checkbook!

If that’s not enough to get your adrenaline going, Lou Brutus of the radio show Hard Drive will be hosting a Slipknot special from December 3rd-6th on radio stations across the country. Feelin’ greedy? Then head over to Slipknot’s new website for even more information about tickets and other promotional offers!
