Nickelback plots North American trek
Hot off the release of its new album Dark Horse, and our subsquent, rather controversial review, Nickelback has announced details for a two-month North American tour beginning early next year. However, in addition to providing support for fourth full-length effort, the 30-plus date trek, scheduled to begin on February 25th in Nashville, should also help Chad Kroeger and Co. accomplish an ulterior motive (ie., leading by example):
“I feel like there’s not enough rock bands out there, especially when we go on the road,” [Kroeger] said. “It’s tough to find other bands out there, because either they’re making a record, or they just got done touring.”
The solution, in Kroeger’s eyes, is to encourage people to spend less time pretending to be musicians and more time actually becoming one. “Kids: Start rock bands,” he continued. “Set down the Guitar Hero, learn how to play an actual guitar and start a band, because it’s hard to find more bands to put a solid rock-and-roll package together, to get out there.”

Hopefully, the live performance is a bit more inspiring than Dark Horses’ um…shortcomings???
Seether and Saving Abel have been tapped to serve as support. Members of Nickelbackfanclub.com will have first dibs on tickets beginning November 25th, while the general public will have their opportunity starting December 5th.

LOL Nickleshit talking about needing more “rock” bands. I pray no more are like Nickleback, and Saving Abel. Seether at least had a point in their career where the were semi-redeemable.
GUITARS!!!!!!
What the hell is he talking about there are no rock bands out there? There are more bands now than there have EVER been before.
Bands like his mike. bands like his…
He is referring to the lack of straight up rock ‘n’ roll bands. You know? like the strokes? arctic Monkeys? Kings Of Leon? My Morning Jacket? Everyone is too busy trying to be the next indie pop darlings(thanks for that death cab, amongst others). But for this fuck stick to be saying this is fucking dumb, generic retarded rock. WEAK, now if it was Albert Hammond JR, or Julian saying this, then it would have some cred.
